Over the years, God has worked in the lives of our staff to give them hearts that treasure all that God is for them in Christ. He has uniquely prepared each of them to lead the ministry of Berean Bible Church so that we can work together as a team to spread a life-changing passion for Christ.

Meet Our Staff!


Our Senior Pastor, Scott Friesen, and his family came to Berean Bible Church in September of 2001. He is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. He has previous pastoral experience in Michigan and Minnesota. Pastor Scott and his wife, Kristen, have three girls.



Our Pastor of Youth and Children's Ministries, Jeff Hower, joined the ministry team in March of 2010. Pastor Jeff and his family partner with families, youth, and children to walk the kingdom path together. Jeff has worked with youth in a variety of educational, coaching, and ministry settings for the last 20 years. Jeff and his wife, Daurice, enjoy time with their daughter and son.



Our church family in Grand Island began on June 13th of 1992. Six couples met together for prayer and to discuss the possibility of starting a church. Several volunteered to search for a suitable meeting place. We are grateful to both the School Board and the Superintendent of Northwest High School for allowing us to rent a space in which to meet. The first service at the high school was held on July 28th of 1992 with 55 people attending. God greatly blessed their efforts and soon more than one hundred people were meeting together for worship and Bible study. We moved into our present facility at 4116 West Capital Avenue in 1995.
